Five advanced functional lab tests analysed, followed by a personalised three-month programme.
Testosterone. Preliminary research found that average total testosterone in men fell by around 54% between 1972 and 2019, a decline of more than 1% a year. Levine et al., presented at ESHRE 2026 (not yet peer reviewed).
Fertility. One in six people worldwide experience infertility at some point in their lives, and global sperm concentration fell by 51.6% between 1973 and 2018. World Health Organisation, 2023; Levine et al., Human Reproduction Update, 2023.

I started The Optimisation Lab to help people optimise their health through the power of functional lab testing.
I believe health works as a connected system. We look at everything together, from your hormones and oxidative stress to your mucosal barrier, gut microbiome and food reactions.
That way, data guides every decision and every step has a clear reason.
A free 45-minute conversation. We discuss where you're currently at and your health goals, then decide together if this programme is right for you.
Free · 45 minutesI order all five labs directly to your door. Here at The Optimisation Lab, we use Nordic Laboratories, a leading provider of functional lab tests.
Done from homeThe lab processes your samples. Then I review everything in detail and prepare your personal breakdown.
I handle the analysis3 months of personalised guidance with regular check-ins to keep you on track.
3 months · One-to-oneNo. This is a non-medical, educational approach. I don't diagnose, treat or cure disease, and I'll always encourage you to stay in touch with your doctor. Please speak to your GP about any medical concern.
Standard GP tests are designed to identify disease and flag results outside a reference range. Functional lab testing looks at how your body is functioning, using a wider set of tests across hormones, oxidative stress, gut health and food reactions. It complements the care your GP provides and does not replace it.
The Optimisation Lab is for adults aged 21 and over, men and women, who want to understand their health in more depth and take a data-led approach. It is not a replacement for medical care.
In most cases, yes. Before I recommend any supplement or nutrition change, I check for potential interactions using Drugs.com, and I never ask you to change or stop prescribed medication.
Five advanced functional labs. One personalised plan.
Educational and non-medical. This service does not diagnose, treat or cure any disease and is not a substitute for medical advice. Please consult your doctor about any medical concern.

| Use information about your health | Your explicit consent. You can withdraw it at any time, although we may then be unable to continue the programme. |
| Keep financial and business records, and meet tax and legal duties | Legal obligation |
| Handle complaints and protect our legal position | Our legitimate interests |
We only share information where it is needed to run the service. We do not sell your information.
We will only share information with your GP if you ask us to or give us permission, unless the law requires it or there is a serious risk to someone's safety.
Some of the providers above may process information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as a UK adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

The terms that apply when you use this website, book a call or join the programme, in plain English.
These terms apply to your use of this website and to any service you buy from The Optimisation Lab, a trading name of Harry Lees, a sole trader ("we", "us"). Our contact details are on the company details page. By booking a call or buying the programme, you agree to these terms.
The Optimisation Lab provides non-medical, educational health coaching. We do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and nothing we say is medical advice. Our service does not replace your GP or any other healthcare professional.
Never start, stop or change prescribed medication without speaking to your GP or pharmacist. In an emergency call 999. For urgent medical help that is not an emergency, call NHS 111. If a result or symptom worries you, speak to your doctor.
The consultation call is free, lasts about 45 minutes, and carries no obligation to buy anything. It is a conversation about where you are now and your health goals, so we can both decide whether the programme is right for you. It is not a medical consultation. If you would prefer an in-person consultation, email harry@theoptimisationlab.com.
The programme is a personalised three-month service. It includes:
It does not include: GP appointments, medical treatment, or the cost of supplements.
The laboratory testing begins once you have paid (in full, or the first instalment of a payment plan) and completed our intake form. The coaching element of the programme begins once we have received all of your laboratory results, which can take up to 4 weeks after you send your test kits back. No coaching takes place before then.
We may suggest nutrition, lifestyle and supplement options. Before you take anything, check with your GP or pharmacist, especially if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have allergies or a medical condition. Follow the label on any product. Stop and seek advice if you have a reaction. You are responsible for deciding what you take.
The price of the programme is confirmed to you in writing before you pay. You can pay in full, or through a payment plan. We will confirm in writing before you pay: the price, the payment option you choose, any instalment dates, what is included, and how the price is split between the coaching fee and the cost of the laboratory tests. Payment is made through a secure payment link from Tide, which we send you after your consultation call if you decide to go ahead. The cost of laboratory tests is included in the price.
If you buy the programme online, by phone or by email, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of the day we confirm your booking, without giving a reason. This right comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
To cancel, tell us clearly in writing, for example by email to harry@theoptimisationlab.com.
Because the coaching element does not begin until your laboratory results are back, no coaching takes place in the first 14 days. If you cancel within the 14 days, you will receive a full refund of the coaching fee. The cost of laboratory tests we have already ordered for you cannot be refunded, because the laboratory charges us for them. We order your tests within 48 hours or 7 days of you starting, as we agree on your consultation call.
Cancelling after the 14 days: fees you have paid are not refundable. You can stop the programme at any time, but we cannot refund the coaching fee or the cost of your laboratory tests, because the work has been planned and the tests ordered for you. This does not affect your legal rights if we have not provided the service with reasonable care and skill.
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. If we do not, tell us as soon as possible. You have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that these terms do not affect. If you have a complaint, email harry@theoptimisationlab.com and we will reply within 14 days.
People respond differently, and we cannot promise any particular result or improvement.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected. Beyond that, we are not responsible for loss that was not a foreseeable result of our failing to meet these terms. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for harm that results from you not giving us accurate information, or from changing or stopping prescribed medication without your GP's advice.
We keep what you tell us confidential and use it as set out in our privacy policy.
The website and the materials we give you belong to us and are for your personal use only. Please do not copy or share them. The information on this website is general and educational. Links to other sites are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for what is on them.
We may update these terms. The version in place when you buy the programme applies to that purchase.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with disputes. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also be able to bring a claim in your local courts.
Questions about these terms: harry@theoptimisationlab.com.
